A tag has been placed on Draft:Gaaiho PDF Reader, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. File permission problem with File:Gaaiho logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Gaaiho logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I'll concentrate on the PDF article because both have the same problems. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the software company, press releases, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the software company claims or interviewing its management. Most of your text was referenced to sources that were not independent third-party sources, but included the company itself or websites of dubious value. One (Softtonic) triggered Ublock, which told me it is a badware site. the "version history" reference redirects to a company spam page.
  • There is absolutely nothing in the text to show that this meets the criteria, no sales figures, nothing except endless lists and tables telling us in minute detail every thing that the the product is supposed to do, although there are no sources for most of these claims
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Your text has virtually no content apart from unattributed descriptions and claims for the product that look as if they are what the company claims its product can do. There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. that's particularly the case when they are spamlinks to products.
  • The key features and version history lists appear to be WP:OR since you don't even give the company as a source for these (except as the spam redirect), and can't be accepted. It's also possible that they aren't referenced because they are copyright violations, but I didn't check this because the article was unacceptable anyway.

I'm not minded to restore, since it was so bad that it was nominated for deletion even in draft space, which normally affords protection if there are easily fixable issues, and the text was largely unsourced or company-sourced, in fact the whole thing read like a company sales leaflet. If you decide to try again, you will have to show notability, provide proper third party references and dump all the unsourced "key features", which as it stands are just claims with no independent support, and which may have been copied from somewhere.

Please note the item on my talk page regarding your need to formally declare your COI before you attempt to recreate. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:13, 5 April 2017 (UTC) reply

Blocked for sockpuppetry

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Chienyichu1221 ( block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser ( log))

Request reason:

I am struggling with handling this sock puppetry issue and feel sorry for causing this issue here. I was not intended to do any illegitimate things here. The thing was that I was trying to post my articles through another account that I just created recently, which is "Michelle.chu". I didn't know that it would cause this account to be blocked. How am I supposed to fix this problem? I'm feeling worried about being blocked and regarded as a "Sockpuppetry". The articles that I posted through "Michelle.chu" have been posted through "Chienyichu1221" before but they were deleted. I was not sure if I could post them (rewritten already) again on "Chineyichu1221" so I created a new account and posted the rewritten version of the two articles on "Michelle.chu" instead. I didnt know that this act is illegitimate. Now I am working on the two articles again since the articles were being deleted again... due to being unambiguous advertising. Actually I am working for the corporation that owns the products I am writing about and I know the "conflict of interest". I am not here to promote the products. I was just asked to make an article. And there is also a concern about the policy of "verifiability". The corporation does not have sufficient independent sources; most of the sourses I used were reviews from some software websites, marketing materials like magazines and articles written by maybe not that well-organized publishers, and other works in which the corporation talks about itself. Does that mean the corporation does not qualify for an article yet? I am now revising my articles which were deleted yesterday and still have no idea through which account I am supposed to post them. Again I was not intended to do any illegitimate things or violate any policies. Please kindly let me know the proper way to handle this problem. Thank you so much and sorry for causing any inconvenience here.

Decline reason:

It's hard to see how you are acting in good faith here. You knew your article was inappropriate, so you set up an account to attempt to recreate the article when you knew you shouldn't. You knew about our policies on conflict-of-interest, but chose to deliberately violate them. The articles are overtly promotional. And, as you point out, there are issues with verifiability. That's violations of WP:SOCK, WP:COI, WP:PAID, WP:PROMO, and WP:V. Given that, I'm not sure there's any benefit to unblocking you. However, if you can summarise each of those five policies and if you agree not to write about anything for which you have a conflict-of-interest (or, more specifically, tell us what other sorts of contributions you'd make), we'd certainly be willing to consider unblocking you. Request reason:

Thanks for the response and I am here to sincerely summarize each of the five policies you mentioned above: WP:SOCK, WP:COI, WP:PAID, WP:PROMO, and WP:V. Firstly, my account was blocked due to being regarded as "Sock puppetry", which refers to users using alternative accounts for illigetimate purposes. According to WP:SOCK, each Wikipedia user is expected to have only one account unless there are valid reasons for doing so. The condition of maintaining multiple accounts exist only for legitimate uses. My case was that I posted the articles deleted in the draft namespace of the account "Chienyichu1221" onto the other account newly created named "Michele.chu" since I didn't notice that the act would be recognized as "creating new accounts to avoid detection" WP:SOCK. I should have followed what the draft reviewer said reformatting my articles, honestly disclosing my relationship with the company, and posting it. I shouldn't have done that through another account becuase the act was totally "Avoiding scrutiny", which makes other editors unable to know the patterns of my contributions. Secondly, I was asked to make articles for products owned by the corporation I belong to, so my case was "apparent COI" WP:COI, which means I have connection with the business or the products I am writing about. And it already caused BAD FEELING since everything wthin Wiki community should be strictly kept neutral and reliable. Wiki is a place for unpaid volunteers only. According to WP:PAID, as I work for the organization, I MUST disclose who my employer is and my relationship to the organization. What I should have chosen to do was requesting an independent editor to create the articles Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. I need to disclose my relationship to the organization first, and gather all independnet reliable sources to those from WikiProject or anyone regularly responding to article requests; that way I won't be accused of advertising my organization. I need to clearly disclose COI in the request. I should always be honest in my relationship with my organization. No lies, otherwise articles will be deleted again.

Lastly, wiki articles must be created based on reliable, independent third-party sources that others using wiki can check. Everything in the articles should be verifiable even though it has been recognized as being true. As requesting articles is possibly the only way, I have to provide WikiProject writers with reliable sources, including Wikipedia:Verifiability published books, magazines, journals and mainstream newspapers. The problem is that there are no sufficient "reliable sources" for my organization; most of the sources I have are self-published sources or even questionable sources. So I am afraid that the WikiProject writers will have trouble creating articles. I hereby agree not to write about anything for which I have a COI. Thank you. Please kindly review my unblock request and let me know anything I need to further clarify. The article request can be conpleted only when my account is unblocked.

This is a rather nice summary of our policies. It leaves just one question open: If unblocked, what will you do on Wikipedia? Huon ( talk) 23:07, 11 May 2017 (UTC) reply
Thank you for the reply. I have been seriouly thinking about the sorts of contributions I can make.I will try my best to do good and trustable edits about the topics I am into such as history, music and so on. Also I am planning to upload some on my photographs that I think would be useful to Wiki. Those are the things I am intended to do and if you have any suggestions on that, please feel free to let me know. Thank you.

And the third account?-- Bbb23 ( talk) 14:20, 29 May 2017 (UTC) reply
My opinion isn't particularly relevant because I can't overturn a CheckUser block anyway. Personally I'd be willing to AGF and to unblock them if they agree not to write about that company, widely construed. Re-blocking them if necessary is cheap, and there are several innocent explanations for the third one-edit account, starting with WP:COWORKER. Huon ( talk) 19:30, 29 May 2017 (UTC) reply

Thank you.
@ Huon: I am willing to unblock, what's your opinion? @ Bbb23: This is a CU block. Do you agree with unblocking? Vanjagenije (talk) 12:38, 29 May 2017 (UTC) reply
