New York City Meetup
|
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, finalize and approve bylaws, interact with representatives from the Software Freedom Law Center, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the June meeting's minutes and the September meeting's minutes).
We'll also review our recent Wikis Take Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wikipedia Loves Art! bonanza, being planned with the Brooklyn Museum for February.
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our
mailing list.

Hi!
Could you send out please the Military history newsletter ( Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach/Newsletter October 2008) to the different lists at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach and the Active members list? Many thanks in advance, -- ROGER DAVIES talk 21:23, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Belated birthday wishes, dear Casey! All the best, AGK 20:39, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Given the common theme of the messages on this page, is there a list somewhere of editors who operate mailing-list distribution bots, so that people know whom they can talk to and everyone gets a chance? Regards. (P.S.: Don't rush to answer; I know you're busy with the fundraiser. :P) Newyorkbrad ( talk) 12:36, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Casey. I am one of the wikipedia admin, may I be invited to join the channel? Ktsquare (talk) 18:08, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey, sorry to bother you here, but since you're an administrator on Commons, I was wondering if you could check the status on the permissions I forwarded to OTRS for the ~50 images I uploaded this weekend. I know it's likely that some people may not want to work on the permissions since there are so many images to work on, but I just want to verify if OTRS is currently backlogged or if my e-mails got deleted (I sent them all over the weekend, and usually the permissions are done within one or two). You definitely don't have to work on the permissions, but if you could just check their status, I'd appreciate it. I really don't want the images to be deleted, and I think that it is possible some editors may want to since some of the images are really high quality versions of actors/actresses. Anyway, get back to me whenever, and thanks in advance. -- Nehrams2020 ( talk) 06:00, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Because the Signpost hasn't been sent in a while, to save space, I've condensed all seven issues that were not sent into this archive. Only the three issues from November are below.
