I have proposed changing the article Mycobacterium avium intracellulare 's name to "Mycobacterium intracellulare". I have posted this proposal on the article's talk page, but because this change is so dramatic, I believe there should be notice on the head of the article itself, pointing out the proposed name change. That makes sense, right? How can I do that?
Also, my guess is that I should leave the proposal up for several months before making such a drastic change. The page frequently goes for many months without editing, and rarely gets major edits, so it probably would take that long to develop either a consensus or demonstrate lack of opposition (by seeing that no one posted comments opposing the proposed name-change). Does that time-frame make sense?
BTW, if no one opposes changing the page-name, I will follow the advice of Help:Moving_a_page.
