This page is designed to be a place to discuss improvements to the
USS Liberty incident article. This article is currently under
mediation. Your choice to participate is your own. ALL are welcome. Should you choose not to participate, that is your right. If you choose to participate, I ask that you respect the following guidelines:
No soapboxing: Everyone has differing points of view and others' points of view may not coincide with your own. This is a given. You don't need to point out that you disagree. Pointing out that numerous sources back you up is also unnecessary and, especially in this situation, is a given. The point of this page is to find a common ground, not point out differences.
Gross violations of
WP:NPA and
WP:AGF will not be tolerated. You will receive one warning for such behavior and then will be asked to leave the discussion. Misunderstandings when typing are common so slow down and choose your words carefully
A basic outline of this incident will be agreed upon before substantive changes are made. Without a basic outline, changes will be haphazard and will only lead to more problems. The exact content is not as important at this stage as the fact that a basic structure can be established from which we can all work.
The content of the article must conform to Wikipedia standards to include
WP:UNDUE,
WP:RS,
WP:V,
WP:N, etc.
We will likely not 100% agree on every point, but realize that dissenting points of view have value too and, if appropriate, should be included with due weight
Once the paragraphs are completed, we will work together to form a cohesive and appropriate lead
Anyone engaged in edit warring will be asked to leave.
No one (including myself) will make a substantive edit to the page without discussing it here first. Simple grammar/formatting fixes are exempt from this requirement.
