Oh yes :) We need to translate it, just like for instance Stortinget 2005-2009 was some months ago. It is useful information, suitable for Wikipedia, hard to find outside of Wikipedia and to a certain extent countering systemic bias. Punkmorten 11:17, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your contribution to talk:Laminitis. I saw your impressive list of interests and contributions; I share many of them, but I'm so busied about horses that my time is almost gone... my work into wikipedia (en.wiki and mainly it.wiki) is only a part of my web work about (I've a couple of websites and a forum too). Some remarks: 1. horsemanship in a aphazard mixture of ancient, unbeliavable exact intuitions (Xenophons; Kikkuli), of recent intuitions supported by some very good scientific evidence (dr. Strasser; J. Jackson; so-called "natural horsemanship" and "natural communication") and lots of personal undocumented opinions and retained ideas. Firing about is just at its beginning. 2. I presume, many of your interests (just like mine) have a common ground: the new science of complex systems. I think, you'll add it at your list as soon as you'll take a look at. 3. Did you ever read "The art of controversy" by Schopenhauer? Very interesting, for anyone interested to POV.-- Alex brollo 13:31, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I worked on a new Horse hoof article (there were hundreds of horse-related articles into en.wiki, but none about horse hoof; when speaking about diffcult topics as laminitis, something basic is really mandatory!) I also took a look (with some editing) to Nail. Take a look, please, to Horse hoof article - it's a very rough one, so far (mainly about Eglish, not so much about content, I hope...) Thanks!-- Alex brollo 05:27, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello - I've fallen prey to pedantry/obsession, here, with the fact that most Greek derivations of dinos are linked to 'Greek language' instead of 'Ancient Greek'. I started sorting them but it would be a life's work, to check them all manually. I haven't done enough with AWB to be able to enlist its help. Can you help me to do so (assuming you agree with my proposition in the first place!)? By the way, just peeped at your SuggestBot list (I had one today as well) and wondered how you managed not to receive any dino suggestions :-) ??? - Ballista 05:29, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not even sure what I did to deserve it, but I do try to be kind, whenever possible. It's impossible to build an encyclopedia when there are hurt feelings or tense situations. I'm here to build and have fun, nothing more. I'm grateful for the barnstar, and so I thank ye very kindly! :) Happy editing, -- Firsfron of Ronchester 18:05, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanx for reliable & prompt response, as ever! Yes, I fully expected the comments on background and didn't realise I could do anything about it. I have Photoshop 7.0, I think, but have never used it - any tips welcomed.
I'll have a go at it, myself, while you're 'off air'.
Heaven knows why I saw fit to cut off Utahraptor's tail! Megadangerous trick in real life, I would imagine.
I can crop the Utahraptor foot.
I'll put up the other 'Tyranno' & 'Edmonto' stuff!, when I get time, so you can take a critical look (I had real problems selecting one of the 'Edmonto' shots, as they all suffer similar problems, which you have kindly neglected to 'rub in').
Yes, 'Pachy' is the real thing - lazy caption.
Don't know why I goofed on the spelling of Coelacanth.
One day, I'll try to get better shots of 'Tyranno' skeleton & Iguanodon's 'hand'.
Thanx again for your help. - Ballista 08:06, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey Ballista, I won't need you to post these anywhere else to photoshop them. I plan to work with them tomorrow, if that's alright. I have Photoshop CS2 at work, although it's not much different from Photoshop 7. I plan to only edit maybe 5 or 6 of them. The rest are quite nice as it is. The advantage of having these on the MediaWiki Commons is so that people on the Wikipedias in other languages can also use them for their dinosaur articles. When they're on the Commons, any Wikipedia language edition can use them: the software is amazing, and doesn't require any change in the link (in other words, there's no difference in how you write the link when you're editing the page; you don't need to add any fancy code, just the same as you would for a picture on our English Wikipedia). The additional photographs of Cetiosaurus bones are a big plus. Cetiosaurus has one of the shortest articles on WP, and clearly needs some filling out. I'm so glad you took these photos!!! Are you hiding any others? ;) I'm not sure what the copyright status is of the three prints. I'll try to check into that today.-- Firsfron of Ronchester 20:19, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
P.S. I've put up one of the photoshopped photos on your photo page. What do you think? *Nervous* More work, or is it ok? I've done a few others, but not the whole six like I promised.
Hey B! So, I've added a few photoshopped images to your two pages. Your new photos look good, and the only one I adjusted was the dark Scelidosaurus. I brightened it a bit, removed distractions, and also created a close-up of the arm. Scelido is one of my favorite dinosaurs. I'm not sure what you'll think of the adjustment. Yes, the ichthiosaur should go somewhere; it's great! I fixed the glare on the Cetiosaurus humerus, and on the Eustrepto head. What do you think? I cut off the head of Veloci and stuck it on a separate image. If it's dangerous to cut of Utahraptor's tail, I guess it's also dangerous to try and behead Velociraptor! ;) I still plan to finish the original Veloci image, but I ran out of time, today. Similar to the skull of Velociraptor, I also did a cut-out of the Mosasaur, but didn't have a chance to upload it tonight. I figure if the Velo skull is found suitable, I could do a few others. I tried to place the "improved" photos side by side with the originals, so we could easily compare them. They looks side by side in my browser, but I'm not sure what browser you're using, so if I messed up the alignment, I apologise in advance. I guess I'll have to work on the rest tomorrow, 'cause I'm just about ready to head home tonight. Thanks again for: 1. The awesome pictures 2. The opportunity to fiddle with them. -- Firsfron of Ronchester 04:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I've uploaded four pics, from the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre - please find on User:Ballista/images/Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre June 2006 - I hope you can brighten the Sceli skelington & edit out distracting objects? Do we want the others, anywhere? The Ichyosaurus is quite good but not a dino! - Ballista 19:33, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey Ballista! I'm taking a bit of a break from my college algebra homework, and figured I'd see what was up on the Wiki. As usual, you're already on top of things. I'll try to address everything you've mentioned above, but if I miss something, feel free to kick me. 1. Did you let the group know about the Heritage Coast pictures? I don't think they know about them. I'm sure they will want to see them, although I don't see a problem with any of them. I'm really thrilled we've got Scelido now. 2. I'm glad you're happy with some of the current photoshops. I'll continue to make modifications, but I'm definitely done for tonight! :) 3. I haven't heard from Sheep. Did try to e-mail him, but he hasn't activated his e-mail on Wiki. 4. I guess we can start uploading any time you're ready. Dinoguy, you, and I are the only ones who left comments. As long as the photos meet what the three of us have decided, there's no reason to delay, I suppose. Any that still need work can be left on your two pages. Are you uploading them to Commons, or did you decide against it? If you did decide against it, then there's no more uploading needed. 5. Yes, I can easily do a close-up of the horn-stump, but what do you mean by "horn-stump"? Yes, I'm dense. 6. Sorry about the toothpick. You take some nice photos anyway. 7. Yes, I can add my name to the credits. I just thought it seemed "cheeky" (there's no good American equivalent for that word) of me, for you to go out, spend money in museums, and spend lots of time taking the photos and doing all sorts of field research, while I sit in my office and get co-credit. It didn't seem right, so I left my name off. But now that you've added my name to each picture anyway, it just seems like that's causing you extra work... I can definitely add my name, so you won't have to. 8. I guess that's it! Happy editing! :) -- Firsfron of Ronchester 07:26, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Those are great! The earlier Coelacanth is better, I think, but IMO the others don't need any modification, and could go up (with the approval of the rest of the team, of course). Sweet! :)-- Firsfron of Ronchester 00:23, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Many times, your new pictures have eliminated any need for me to rework the images. For example, the new Megalosaurus display image means I won't need to lighten the old image. Your new Velociraptor image #4 is probably suitable as is. I've left comments on the relevant pages. Aside from still wanting to do some skull cut-outs for Ornithomimus and (fixing the dark) T-rex, and maybe a cut-out for Iguanodon's hand, I guess I'm close to complete, except for one glare removal and one text-on-glass removal. Re: Scelidosaurus' 'head horn': isn't that just a scute?-- Firsfron of Ronchester 15:32, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
How cool! I have spruced up Scelidosaurus and Ornithomimus, much nicer. Now were they all from OUMNH? cheers Cas Liber 09:09, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
PS: When I went to Uffington it was really gloomy and misty - quite atmospheric but lousy for photos. Cas Liber 09:09, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
What's with the "steady on the (humourous) outbursts spawn" on the WikProject Dinosaur talk page dude? I don't think I've said or done anything that should concern you. Please feel free to answer on my talk. Thanks, Spawn Man 10:04, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for all the thoughtful comments on the 'new' page - very much to the point as ever. Yes, you said you trusted my judgement and now I blew it! I took a chance on Utahraptor, as Dinoguy seemed kinda resigned about the anatomical failing & there was no pic up there. We'll have to see what storm blows up now. - Ballista 16:47, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Please, don't add Flemish rubbish to the Belgium article.

I know you really enjoy editing & uploading photos onto dinosaur articles, but some care must be taken! Some of your photos are out of focus/in bad light/irrelevant (choose 1 or more). Other times, you just place them in the most akward locations, such as all in one section. Take some care to carefully plan out where they will go or where they will fit. Don't just plonk them anyhere k? The ones which aren't that good, don't put them in. Think of it like a piece of cake. You've just eaten a buffet meal & you're sooo full. But everyone else is eating cake, so you want some. You don't need it, but just cause it's there you eat it. Or think of a bad picture as a toy you never use. You never use the toy, so your mum wants you to throw it out. You plead that you do play with it, but you never do. If a picture is bad or is overcrowding the text, throw it away or don't use it. It will save everyone time & overall, make the article ten times better. This was a friendly reminder from your friendly neighbourhood Spawn Man! Thanks, Spawn Man 00:01, 22 June 2006 (UTC). P.S. Kids, eat your veges!
Copied from Spawn's talk page: Good Morning from England. Thanks, Spawn Man for taking an interest in my images. I had hoped to avoid any objection to my uploading a significant number of pictures onto WP almost simultaneously, by consulting the Project as a whole, both on the project page and on the collaboration page, before doing so. I had some responses from Dinoguy, Cas Liber and Firsfron. There were some constructive negative comments made about some of the pictures, which was useful in preventing them going up. Generally, however, the comments were positive. Some of the pictures were posted for comment for almost a week. Another time, please try to avoid this sort of retrospective action, by contributing to discussions at the time, prior to any alterations being made to articles. As it is, I had fun taking the pictures. They are posted on WP for everyone's benefit. They are then commended to the Project editors and to the other members of the editing WP community, to do with as they see fit. No sweat if your opinions are not the same as others. That's Wikipedia. I would have waded in on this discussion earlier, had I not been asleep (UK time). I shall continue to work, as before, by consultation with the Project. Good idea if we all do, to avoid adversarial encounters. So much to do, so little time - why waste time on disagreement? - Ballista 04:28, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Aye to that! - Ballista 04:46, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
My cable is finally back as my cable company finally decided to pull its head out of its arse. I guess after two weeks the stench finally became overwhelming. Anyway, I am back, have no fear! Sheep81 02:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
On the Velociraptor article, it has been requested that this article be removed in the article's FAC. However, I think it is a highly needed picture. Is there any way you could photoshop out the glass exhibit line going through the picture & lighten it up significantly? It would save the picture & get velociraptor featured... Thanks, Spawn Man 23:57, 22 June 2006 (UTC). P.S. I'd do it, but I don't have photoshop..
-yick! I put it on Protoceratops page too... Cas Liber 03:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah - first time I went was late November or early December, got pub trans and tehn hitched there - cold and misty. Was getting dark and I was musing that it was a hell of a long way to anywhere when a car drove by and I hitched a lift rigth into Ealing (grandma's house where I was staying).
I was musing on uploading them to the White Horse and/or Waylands Smithy pages to show place in different light.
I also have some photos of Leeds Castle all snowed under with lake frozen.. Cas Liber 06:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi - Info only: remember we were 'talkin' about articles on dinos, in which the word 'dinosaur' did not appear in the text? - just found another - Probactrosaurus (now expanded over 1kB & 'dinosaur' now appears twice, just to make sure!) (Also expanded Sinusonasus, while I was 'at it'). - Ballista 14:21, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
You seem to know a lot about Guiting Power, so I was wondering if you know about Jamie Kane. Especially;

Because in the game one must find a building using triangulation and it is username ahlund47840 and password templogin and you have to look for this building. Is it something important, like http://www.radburnmanor.co.uk/ ? Sorry to bother you but I thought it might be of interest. Some pictures of the building in question would also be interesting if you have any.

Please take a look and cast your expert eye - User:Ballista/images/Natural History Museum, London - comments welcome - lot more to follow, but I'm only getting little pockets of time to do this work, at present. I'll upload some each day for a bit. - Ballista 05:29, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Nice one - uploaded teh tail pic to diplodocus page (nice). Other diplodocus image a bit dark. Do you want me to lighten it or can you? Also very timely contemp pic of iguanodon... Cas Liber 08:01, 4 July 2006 (UTC) I meant the nice Iggy model. The diplodocus you lightened needs to be a bit more contrasty. I am so jealous, Syndey's museum has a Giganotosaurus only - everything else is being renovated.. cheers Cas Liber 04:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Nice work - I was already toying with the notion of rounding up these guys - there's a bit of work going on on these lines within the WikiProject Dinosaurs ( Wikipedia:WikiProject Dinosaurs/formations). There is a bunch of Formations without articles (i.e. giving ugly red links!). I was going to try to assemble a list of them (dinosaur-fossil-bearing ones, at least) but haven't yet done so - can you contribute? - Ballista 05:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Here you - I hereby award you a double barnstar - (how the heck do we do them in tandem?) - for all your incredible editing work on dino images. - Ballista 05:51, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Struthiomimus skull.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:06, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi - I have revisited the photographs of that first ill-fated visit to the Oxford Museum, in case I had made further errors. I had! Ornithomimus is Struthiomimus (as per the third visit, in which images are correctly labelled. I must have had a hormonal day, that day (or something). I apologise for dragging you into it, with your beautifully edited shot of the skull. I hope I have now made all the corrections necessary, except to your own files, of course. I have re-uploaded with correct names and captions. I have removed the images from the Ornithomimus page. I think that has now purged all the errors! - Ballista 07:33, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Hey - I wonder if you can help me with the definitive deal on Oviraptor/Citipati - we seem to have a full-blown article on Oviraptor, which reads very like Citipati - are they one and the same?

Hi - couldn't help noticing the new userbox - congratulations on so many edits. - Ballista 18:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Stuck in a Leeds Castle in winter image, I have another on the Commons Leeds Castle category site... Cas Liber 07:29, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Good to hear from you - it's great knowing someone's out there! I wasn't worried about languishing images - don't want to overdo things. However, I have plans for more photos ..... - Ballista 05:39, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
you shouldnt be so shy about changes. sometimes one is right sometimes one is not. the best way to learn is to talk about it and discuss it. ... plus i also think the vertical slit eyes look cool. but i use it mustly in dragons wich are out of subject here :) so remember.. be bold, LadyofHats 07:24, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

You seem to know a lot about Guiting Power, so I was wondering if you know about Jamie Kane. Especially;

Linked article to yer image ;) Cas Liber 03:04, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

(I think I understood from you, before, that they were). Sorry to be dense but always keen to learn. - Ballista 22:06, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but the work was all yours really - there were only one or two bits extra in the other article. I was a bit concerned I'd redirected the other article a bit too quickly actually, so thanks for confirming it was the correct decision. It's a pretty cool car/bike actually, I'd not heard of them until the other day. Bob 09:05, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Saw your edits on Styracosaurus, Kentrosaurus, and all those ankylosaurs... thanks! Looking much better, IMO. I've been meaning to get to Styracosaurus for ages: it's one of my faves! OK, this message was sort of pointless...-- Firsfron of Ronchester 12:05, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but I do not remember what this was about. I do not know why you are waiting for a response from me? -- Mais oui! 09:58, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Aha, you're right. One of the images at disc or drum brake will probably work just as well as anything others are likely to come up with. I wasn't really envisioning anything in specific, I just hadn't explored more. Thanks for pointing that out. -- Interiot 11:20, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello and thanks for your message! Let me address individual points:
Excuse me for being sarcastic and unhelpful, I have just been extremely upset by somebody, I hope it doesn't show that much in this post/edit. Regards, Bravada, talk - 13:16, 2 August 2006 (UTC) PS. Please let me know what exactly I could do for you (except for the uploading thing, please spare me that) and I will gladly help you - I am just too dim-witted to infer from your message.
Hello again - I have two questions for you:
I noticed you have re-uploaded some pictures that have been moved to Commons (sometimes under a different name). Please don't do that. It's unnecessary to have the same picture more than once. // Liftarn
