You used the wrong deletion tag for that page, it specifically says it's not for redirects. I see you're new here, so I added the 'welcome' template above. It has plenty of useful links, take your time, read through them and get to know the project's policies and guidelines, as well as the various technical procedures... there are a lot of them, and you'll need to start learning them if you want to edit both article and project spaces.
