Nonsense of HP SPaM

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on HP SPaM, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because HP SPaM provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting HP SPaM, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Thanks for your note. The page that you requested me to review contained the following content at the time it was deleted:
"This article is total bullshit. The vandal is not me, but the one who wrote it. The link at the bottom is a complete red herring, it never once mentions this entity, because this entity DOES NOT EXIST. I am deleting vandalism; I am not the one who should be punished."
I hope you would agree that this is not legitimate content that should be put forth by Wikipedia under this title and that it should be deleted. However, I definitely see your point that a much earlier version of the article contains something that might be legitimate content. I'm going to look into this and get back to you very quickly. Accounting4Taste: talk 17:31, 8 April 2008 (UTC) reply
I have examined and restored an earlier version of the article on the basis that it appears to have more legitimacy than was available in the most recent revisions and I apologize for what seems to have been at least an error of haste on my part in not investigating beyond the immediate and tagged version of the article. However, I have concerns that I want to bring to your attention. The article as it currently stands has problems with the Wikipedia policy of reliable sources. I traced the link at the bottom of the page and, although it is a huge page that may contain a reference to the content of the article, it doesn't seem to bear any relationship on first glance. Similarly, there are phrases in the body of the article such as "legend has it" that are red flags as far as the reliable source policy is concerned. In Wikipedia, the policy is that legend does NOT have it -- legends must be backed up by reliable sources. I urge you to research and add those sources to the article as quickly as possible or else the article may be legitimately deleted as infringing the reliable sources policy by another administrator. I'm also concerned that the contents of this article would be perhaps more appropriate as an entry within the article for Hewlett-Packard -- I believe it is at the least unusual for a division of a company to have its own wikipedia article. I expect that this article will be further challenged by other editors and administrators and I advise you to be prepared to meet those challenges with reference to existing Wikipedia policy. If you have any further questions about Wikipedia policy, please feel free to leave me a note as you have previously done. Accounting4Taste: talk 17:42, 8 April 2008 (UTC) reply
I've read through the Hewlett-Packard page and recognize that it seems legitimate to have separate articles about the divisions of a company as large as HP. However, I observe that the HP article doesn't contain any mention of this particular division; you may want to address this by creating linkages between the two articles. Again, if you need help, leave me a note. Accounting4Taste: talk 17:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC) reply
Thanks for your note. I'll be keeping an eye on this article for various reasons -- if you require any assistance, feel free to leave me a note. Accounting4Taste: talk 05:01, 9 April 2008 (UTC) reply

HP SPaM

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article HP SPaM, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{ dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{ db-author}} to the top of HP SPaM.
