The article Davide Cortina has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable footballer - fails WP:GNG and WP:NSPORTS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Davide Cortina requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Creation and deletion of articles

Let me try and explain a few things to you so that hopefully we will not have so many run ins in the future. In order to have an article on Wikipedia, a subject must meet certain inclusion criteria called notability. For footballers, there are two relevant notability guidelines. The first is the general notability guideline, which covers all topics, and says that subject which has received significant coverage in reliable sources. For the purposes of this guideline routine sports coverage (match previews and reports, player profiles, team rosters, transfer announcements etc.) do constitute significant coverage. The other is WP:NFOOTBALL, a notability guideline specific to football. It says that any footballer who has played in a fully professional league or his country's senior national team is notable. Managers who have managed a club in fully pro league or a senior national team (their country's or otherwise) are notable as well. Absent sources confirming the contrary, the Filipino league is not considered fully pro. In addition to this, biographies of living people (BLP's) must cite at least one reliable source which mentions the subject by name. Any article failing these criteria will be deleted.

Deletion is effected in one of four ways.

  • First, the BLPPROD (see Marvin Angeles). This applies only the BLP's that do not cite any reliable sources. This process may be stopped by removing the deletion tag, but only if the article is no longer unsourced.
  • Second, the proposed deletion or PROD for short (see Prince Bolei). This applies to all articles. It can be stopped by removing the deletion tag, which may be done at any time for any reason. However, if you do not address the underlying the nominating user will usually just resort to a different deletion process.
  • Third, articles for deletion or afd for short (see Rufo Sánchez). Under this process, the deletion of the article is discussed by interested users for at least seven days. At which point, if there is a consensus to delete, keep, merge, redirect, or move the article, the relevant action will be taken. If there is no consensus, the discussion continues until there is, or the article is kept. This process may not be stopped under any circumstances until the discussion is complete.
  • Forth is speedy deletion. If an article meets any of the criteria listed here, it may deleted immediately. Speedy deletion tags may not be removed by the article's creator. This refers to the person, not just the account who created the article. In other words, if you create an article with this account, you may not remove speedy deletion tags from it as Amador Jover Veloz.

Inappropriately removing deletion tags, be it BLPPROD's from unsourced articles, afd tags for on going discussions, or speedy deletion tags from articles you created, is disruptive. Doing so repeatedly will be construed vandalism and might get you blocked from editing until the articles in question are deleted. Once deleted, an article should not be recreated unless the reason for its deletion no longer applies. Inappropriate recreation of articles is also disruptive and will also be considered vandalism if done repeatedly.

Finally, since you are operating multiple accounts, I should warn you that using them abusively (i.e. trying to give the impression that there is more than one person when there is not) is called sockpuppetry and is one of the most serious violations of Wikipedia policy and usually results in a lifetime editing ban. Sockpuppeteers are presonae non grata of the highest order. Their new accounts are blocked upon discovery and articles they create, inappropriately or otherwise, may deleted speedily. So far, your behaviour with regards to you two accounts has been fine. I just wanted to give you a heads up.

I hope this clears some things up. If you have any questions, do not hesitate the post them to my talk page. Best regards. Sir Sputnik ( talk) 15:53, 17 March 2013 (UTC) reply

Blocked for sockpuppetry

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Amador jover, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
