I think the main problem here is that this article is about CFR, while you are arguing for posting the IFR—which accounts for all asymptomatic and undiagnosed infections, which from the studies I've read is indeed closer to 0.5% (I've seen 0.12-0.2%, 0.7%, 0.9%).
