The problem is that there is almost no sourcing for it. That link of yours is not exactly a reliable secondary source, and it says next to nothing. (BTW, it is not exclusively Northern Irish: they make it in Venezuela too.) I find a few hits for it in Google Books, but most of those are mentions in works of literature and thus unusable here.
