Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will try to answer your questions as best as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. — Mr. Stradivarius 09:33, 1 January 2012 (UTC) reply

Hi. I can see that you're relatively new to Wikipedia, and have only edited a handful of articles, so firstly, welcome. However, you need to pay some attention firstly to Edit summaries, the comments editors add when changing an article (you can see them by clicking View history), and to comments on the Talk pages of articles (via the Discussion link). You need to use such tools yourself too. It makes it much easier for us to understand what each other is doing.

Also, you really should register. I'm posting this to an IP address, which can easily change. (If all this makes no sense to the person who ends up reading this, that's what's happened. My apologies.) Registering means that we can identify a particular poster to talk to. Much more civilised.

In the case of Karmichael Hunt, there were meaningful comments in both my Edit summaries and the Discussion page. You really should look there.

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Northern Football League (Australia), you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You must provide independant third party sources to prove the previous edits incorrect 120.155.223.60 ( talk) 13:51, 1 October 2010 (UTC) reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 120.155.4.52 ( talk) 13:57, 1 October 2010 (UTC) reply

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did to Northern Football League (Australia), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You MUST provide independent third party sources for your edit, and meanwhile you MUST discuss this on the talk page —Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.152.136.25 ( talk) 16:12, 2 October 2010 (UTC) reply

Your editing privileges have been suspended for a short while

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{ unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

To edit, please log in.

Editing by anonymous users from your shared IP address or address range may be currently disabled. Registered users, however, are still able to edit. If you are currently blocked from creating an account, you may use this form to request a username. Alternatively, you may email us with your preferred username. Either way, use an email address issued to you by your ISP, school or organization so that we may verify that you are a legitimate user on this network. If using the form, please reference this block in the comment section.

Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Comments: You have been blocked for 55 hours; You don't get to have three reverts before being blocked - your account can be blocked as soon as it is obvious that you would rather revert than discuss your edits. You may be correct as regards the subject, but unless you tell someone where you are getting your facts from then the default action is to stop you from changing the article. If you recommence this edit war when the block expires, then it indicates that this address is stable and can be blocked for a longer period. Under the circumstances, I strongly suggest that you start talking to the other editors.
