Hi! I'm WhinyTheYounger, a user who chose his username before realizing 'whiny' and ' Pliny' don't actually rhyme (Classics was never one of my better subjects). A core interest of mine is Greater China, broadly construed, particularly language, foreign affairs, comparative politics, but I find myself editing a wide range of articles primarily in the humanities and social sciences, as well as medicine, to a lesser degree.
I am also interested in conflict-of-interest and undisclosed paid editing issues. Relatedly, I try to focus on the edit request backlog from time to time.
Potential COI/ WP:SPIP/Neutrality/Promotion issues: Anita Dunn • Randall Lane (journalist) • Daniel Horowitz • BGR Group • Lee Edwards • Manhattan Institute • Francesco Sisci • Keith Dowding • Richard D. Lewis • Roger Kimball • Aaron Friedberg • Michael Sayman • Peter Breggin(Note to self: make article for
Amy Glasmeier,
Land O' Lakes Statement, and
Joseph Stokes, Jr.)
Bolded articles were created by me. Generally, I count as "major" anything I spent at least an hour or two researching and writing.
Non-greater China stuff:
St. Laurent, Manitoba (Baby's first substantive edits!) —
Declawing of crabs —
Lysol —
Gelatin —
French protectorate of Tunisia —
Human hair color —
Death of Adama Traoré —
George Floyd protests in Washington, D.C. —
John Bunn (exonerated prisoner) —
Swiss Statement —
Election day —
Pocari Sweat —
Tim Guldimann —
Casey Frey —
Senate of Lesotho —
Republican Attorneys General Association —
Matthew Daniels —
Alaskapox virus
Greater China-related stuff:
HIV/AIDS in China —
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China —
Mao Gong ding —
Project 2049 Institute —
China–North Korea relations —
ROKS Cheonan sinking —
Chinese language romanization in Taiwan —
