Slvrdlphn (pronounced silver dolphin) is, as far as she knows, the only Slvrdlphn on the net. She is an educator, writer, editor, social media manager, front-end web developer, and blogger. At present, she teaches part-time in three schools, is working on two manuscripts, takes on writing or coding jobs left and right, and does most of the cooking for the family.

Although she has been a wiki user for more than a decade, she didn't decide to actively update and create articles on wiki until recently on her scheduled free time, for a change of pace. She finds the act of going through Wikipedia to add citations to articles and to edit the layout therapeutic.

Filipino Music is a passion

She hails from the   Philippines and is a long time critic and enthusiast of Filipino music in its many forms. In a "past life" she was one of the owners of the website called Musiko.com (Home of the Filipino Musician) [1], a finalist of the Philippine Webby Awards [2] [3] [4] for two consecutive years, alongside Titikpilipino.com, and Jim Ayson's Philmusic.com who won the award consistently from the 1st webbies. Musiko.com was a website whose primary purpose was to feature Filipino musicians from different genre individually, not just for the group/s they represent.

Here is an excerpt from the post cited above that describes Musiko.com:

Musiko.com. This is the brainchild of a Web development company set up by a group of friends, Web Empire, Inc. The president of the company is erstwhile TitikPilipino.com webmaster Jay Frank de Jesus. Its Chief Operating Officer is Penny Tan, known in the music circles for her personal relationship with bassist Simon Tan.

Musiko.com is the "Home of the Filipino Musician." With Jay and Penny being in touch with the music industry, it was thought that perhaps it is high time for musicians to be in the limelight. While most people are familiar with the lead singers or the cute drummer, it is seldom that the other musicians gain popularity, notwithstanding their time on stage.

Web Empire started the site by gathering the profiles of musician friends. Today, they have a database of 80 musicians and the number is still growing. Penny envisions the site to have a comprehensive database of every Filipino musician who can benefit from the exposure their site can give.

Musiko.com features a community where the members can exchange information, instruments, gig schedules, announce new albums, look for new band members, or simply toss ideas around. Fans, record companies, gig venues and event organizers may also make use of the site to get in touch with artists and other colleagues in the business.

She had the honor to interview varied personages in the Philippine music scene such as: Dondi Ledesma, Lirio Salvador, Karl Roy, Pepe Smith, Joey Ayala, Bayang Barrios, Tots Tolentino, Lynn Sherman, Skarlet, Jim Paredes, and Mr. C to name a few, many of whom she is still closely in contact with to this day.

She also had the honor of interacting with National artist, Lucrecia Kasilag, often at the Philippine Women's University while working for Dr. Amelia Lourdes Benitez-Reyes under Special Projects.
