I'm a relatively new Wikipedian, still learning about this interesting and crazy world. I live in Chicago, IL with my two cats, Pippin and Screech, and am single. I am heavily involved in music and singing, having been a member of the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus since 1998, and also had a brief stint as a cabaret singer. In addition to writing, I enjoy photography, cooking and theater.

Blogger

In July of 2005, I started my first blog, "RcktRamblings," on Blogger.com. Within a few months I moved the blog to my own server at rcktman.com to a Wordpress platform, and renamed the blog "RcktMan's Launching Pad." The blog was a mixture of personal observations and politics, music and video clips. I changed the name of the blog to "The Launching Pad" in late 2007, and shut it down briefly in April of 2009. In July of 2009, I re-opened the blog at Wordpress.com (still linking to my domain of rcktman.com) and called it " Rick's Launching Pad," where it remains today.

Major Wikpedia Contributions

My first major Wikipedia contribution was to resurrect and re-write the page for Feast of Fun. This consisted of petitioning to restore the deleted entry, as well as preparing a complete re-write of most of the page. The page has been up since October of 2007 and has been well-maintained ever since.

My next project was to restore and re-write the entry for Internet celebrity B. Scott. This page was restored in December of 2008.
