From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, I have made some contributions to Wikipedia as Notpayingthepsychiatrist or Realiseyourdignity.

I am interested in schizophrenia as a patient.

Here is a copy of my thoughts on my own situation: http://sites.google.com/site/schizophreniahypoxia/

I discovered Philip Seeman's Nature article describing more D4-like receptors in schizophrenics. Since then he says the actual D4 receptor wasn't elevated (another one of his articles says it was probably an increase in 'monomers'). He now says many conditions could lead to highly sensitive d2 receptors and this could lead to schizophrenia (pers. comm) - this was published in Synapse ( http://people.bu.edu/gaowx/Seeman-Synapse-Psychosis%20pathways-2006.pdf), and the variety of causes is reflected in the Wikipedia article 'Causes of Schizophrenia'.

Hope Wikipedia helps you.

Notpayingthepsychiatrist definitely has open mind to new ideas and interest in Neuroscience. He provided me a link to the great article about dopamine addiction. http://www.reuniting.info/science/sex_in_the_brain Thanks you the very much. :) Also, thanks for your patience with spelling and grammar mistakes from non-native English speakers.
