I have decided to write down all the information and specifications that I used for Wikipedia's evolving coverage of public transport services in Athens and mainland Attica.

Icons and colours

None of the organisations behind the construction or operation of the Metro, Tram and Suburban Rail in Athens specify the exact line colour values for web or print, but they agree on a general colour scheme for identifying lines. Wikipedia articles and templates on the subject use what is known as the London Scheme, because most colours come from Pantone values set by Transport for London (TfL). [1]

OASA icons are mainly used for bus and trolleybus services.

Romanisation

ISO 843 Type 2 or BGN/PCGN does not, as far as Minoa knows, appear to have a provision for the romanisation of "γ" to "gh", "σ/ς" to "ss", or "χ" to "h" (without a preceding "c" or "k"). Please investigate further.

× The romanisation is incorrect.
The romanisation uses the legacy BGN/PCGN system.
The English name is different from the romanisation.
