Air Transport World. KLM plans to end a 97-year partnership with Fokker as it concludes Fokker 70 service Oct. 28 with a final KLM Cityhopper flight from London to Amsterdam. The first commercial flight with a Fokker II was on Sept. 15, 1920 to London. KLM Cityhopper began replacing its Fokker fleet with the modern E-Jet, Embraer E190 and Embraer E175+ in 2008.

Air Transport World. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines began operating today 3X-weekly Amsterdam-Minneapolis-St. Paul March 27. The new service supplements 3X-daily flights between Amsterdam and Minneapolis operated by Delta Air Lines, Air France KLM's transatlantic joint-venture partner.

The flight, which arrived from Montreal, marks the end of KLM's MD-11 operations worldwide. The partnership between KLM and aircraft manufacturer McDonnell Douglas lasted more than 80 years.

Air Transport World. Korean Air has won the 4X-weekly frequencies for flights to Iran that are being allocated by the South Korean government. Rival Asiana had also sought these frequencies. Korean Air says it is considering introducing cargo flights to Iran first, although nothing has been confirmed yet. The carrier was also awarded seven additional frequencies to India. It currently operates three weekly flights from Seoul to Mumbai.

"Airline Routes-Feb. 23, 2015". Air Transport World. Korean Air begins 3X-weekly Incheon-Milan and -Rome services Feb. 25, with Milan increasing to 4X-weekly in March. The Rome service sees a change of gauge on March 29 to Boeing 747-400s from Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Milan service will use A330-200s until March 29 when it will begin using 777-200ERs. Also, Korean Air and American Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement. Pending approval, Korean Air will place its code on American Airlines flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Incheon. The new agreement will allow Korean Air SKYPASS members to earn miles when traveling on American-operated flights between DFW and ICN.
