The Haunted Mansion is an E-Ticket Attraction originating in the New Orleans Square area of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It has grown in popularity since its opening, with blogs and fan sites dedicated to the ride being made on the internet; many books dedicated to the ride have also been written.

History

Walt Disney had ideas for a "Haunted House"-style attraction before Disneyland was even built. Many members of WED (now Walt Disney Imagineering) came up with ideas for the Mansion, but a façade based on the Shipley-Lydecker house was decided upon for the new attraction
