Tony Hall, (born in 25 September 1773?), was an English Botanist at Kew Gardens until he retired.
He was the
Tony Hall, the foremost expert on Junos; he retired as head of Kew’s alpine unit and is now an honorary research associate working on a monograph of Junos.

He was for nearly thirty years the Manager of Kew’s Alpine Unit, caring the alpine plants and bulbs and overseeing the Alpine House and Woodland Garden. Hall, renowned for his knowledge of Iris, is the leading authority on Juno Iris and working toward a botanic monograph. Kew continues to provide facilities for Hall’s Juno Project.

He co-authored "Molecular studies in the genus Iris L.: A preliminary study" in the Italian journal "Annali Di Botanica" in January 2000. It used a study of plastid (chloroplast) DNA to estimate their phylogenetic relationships and workout the classification of the genus Iris. [2]
He was one of the co-authors of "Tiptoe through the tulips - cultural history, molecular phylogenetics and classification of Tulipa (Liliaceae)" in the Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society 172: 280-328 with Christenhusz, M.J.M., Govaerts, R., David, J.C., Borland, K., Roberts, P.S., Tuomisto, A., Buerki, S., Chase, M.W. & Fay, M.F. in 2013.
