'Lewis Hinton [1]' is an English writer of novels, magazine articles, poems and screenplays.
He was born in the Wirral, subsequently living in Sunderland, Truro, Rye, London, and Luxembourg. Married, with four children and three grandchildren, he now resides in Grasse, Provençe. Lewis began his varied career at art school, finishing as a banking software company CEO, and travelling extensively along the way.
Hinton's first three novels, which feature Jack Sangster, a sleuth who hunts missing children in 1960's and '70's England, have received acclaim for their attention to location detail and accurate depictions of science, folklore, and especially, in evoking the times in which they are set. Hinton also deals with contentious childhood conditions (at least contentious when the books are set), such as autism and ADHD.
A 2023 book signing in the town of Valbonne, Provence, generated a lot of interest in Hinton's work, and also raised money for a French autism charity .
The books in the Sangster series, published by UK based Troubadour Publishing, are:
- The Face Stone
- Angel's Blade
- Jehovah's Wind
Hinton recently collaborated with Provençale illustrator Claire Tostain, to provide original verses for 'Tutu the wild goose explores the world', a picture book with poetry for the very young.
Hinton has written a number of short film screenplays, and is currently contracted to write a feature length film script by UK production company Triskelion Pictures.
