Matt Lange is an American DJ and electronic music producer based in Los Angeles. His music style consists of techno and deep house. He previously released music on Anjunadeep and is currently signed with deadmau5's label mau5trap. [1] [2] He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Synthesis and has been song-writing and producing ever since. He's played at festivals and shows all over the world including EDC Las Vegas and TomorrowWorld. [3] [4] [5]
Lange began to experience exposure through a series of early releases with Above & Beyond's Anjunadeep label. The tracks, "Bad Year Blimp/Revolver" and "Avalon/Griffith Park" both charted in the top 20 of the Beatport Progressive House charts, and his single "Rift" reached #1 on the Beatport Chill Out chart. [6]
In February 2015, Lange's career direction shifted with a mau5trap release as part of the label's We Are Friends Vol 3 compilation. He went on to release another track on Vol 4 of the same series, and eventually his debut full-length album Ephemera on the same label. In 2016, he also released an EP titled Patchwork as part of the mau5trap's label. [7]
Lange has produced official remixes for Usher, Imogen Heap, The M Machine and the Halo 4 Original Soundtrack, among others. [8] [9] [10] while Billboard acknowledges that his "credentials speak for themselves". [11] Vibe Magazine named Matt Lange the #1 DJ to watch in 2014. [12] Mixmag cited Lange on their "10 Underrated Producers" list, writing he has "more musical predilection in his pinky than most producers' entire catalog". [13] [14]
Matt Lange has co-produced several releases including Glenn Morrison's double platinum-selling single "Goodbye", and Markus Schulz' "Scream". Lange is credited with numerous TV productions, as well as the Fox Digital production ETXR, which he scored in its entirety. [15] His song with Blake Lewis, " Your Touch," was featured in the TV and web Internet Explorer 10 advertisements. In addition to advertisements and TV compositions, Lange produced Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six Siege trailer. [16] [17] [18] [19] [20]
