Australian rock band AC/DC have recieved numerous awards, nominations and honorary accolades throughout their career. They were formed in Sydney in November 1973 by Angus (lead guitar) and Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar). [1] Their first line-up include the Young brothers, Colin Burgess (drums), Larry Van Kriedt (bass guitar) and Dave Evans (vocals). [2] The band's was never nominated from an award show in their early days, until in 1982, where they were nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group in the 9th Annual American Music Awards.
The band released Blow Up Your Video (1988), which was nominated for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance – Vocal or Instrumental at the 31st Annual Grammy Awards in 1989. They were also nominated for another Grammy Award – Best Hard Rock Performance for The Razors Edge in 1991, and two more in the same category: " Moneytalks" in 1992 and the live version of " Highway to Hell" in 1994. The Razors Edge's lead single, " Thunderstruck" was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards. " Big Gun" won an APRA Award for Most Played Australian Work Overseas in 1995.
