Unlike in India, scholars have hardly ^[a] documented the numerous riots and pogroms in East Pakistan and Bangladesh. A vast majority was perpetrated by a Muslim majority against a Hindu minority. In any case, this vacuum led to the inevitable proliferation of Hindutva-aligned narratives and subsequently, our articles have come to depend on them, rather uncritically.
