My name is Taylor Grimmett. (I do not like my middle name, hence why I did not include it). I am a pretty typical teenager who is attending their first year of college at the University of Pikeville. I am studying to get a sociology degree and maybe another minor in something in the near future. I just recently bought a trailer with my roommate and we plan on living there all summer and continuing to go to college, while maintaining a job and paying all of our bills. I never thought that I would be on my own this quickly, but I must say it is so exciting. My hobbies include playing any sport whatsoever, driving around with all of my friends, shopping, and having as many lazy days as I can just to enjoy everything in my life. I absolutely love animals with everything in me, and if it were possible I would have at least fifty puppies I could all call my own. If I had to choose what kind of dog was my favorite, it would be a Dalmatian for sure. Switching from topic to topic, because I am random and I want to get everything out there, I hate reading. I absolutely will not do it unless it is the last thing I can do before I mess up. The only things I am interested in are either scary, mystery books or love novels; and even then if they are very long I probably will not even finish it. When I grow older, I want to live in a city. I want to go from living in West Virginia, then Kentucky, to somewhere like California. I want to travel the world and go on a lot of cruises. I want to have that job that pays good money, but I love it so it does not even matter. I do not want to rush to grow up though, because I have a lot of memories that still need to be made in college first. My first year of college could not have been any better honestly. The first few weeks were awkward and they made me nervous only because I did not know one soul that came to Pikeville. I was all by myself. Looking back on it now, I would not have had it any other way. I love the new friends I have made and the good laughs we have all shared. We are together every single day of the week and most weekends too. I could not imagine my life without them at this point in time. Now that we all have a house to go to, I can only imagine what we will get ourselves into and all the new memories that will be made this summer, and the years that we have in college to come. Like I said, my name is Taylor Grimmett and everybody knows me as taytay, so you are more than welcome to join the crowd.

My Life in the Eyes of Technology

My whole life has consisted of play stations and xbox's, laptops, iPads, cell phones, and even a kindle. The devices that I have in my dorm room right now are a play station, an iPad, a laptop, and my most prized possession of them all is my cellphone. Although my whole life has basically revolved around devices like these, I must admit that I do not know them well enough to help other people with them that much. I may know how to do the simple things on a laptop like pull up Microsoft Word or some other small things, but I do not know the more complicated things. Even on my cell phone, I feel as if I should be a lot better when it comes to the technology about it. There is one thing I am one hundred percent true about though, I dislike mac computers with every single thing in my heart and soul. They just seem so much more complicated to me, in the sense that they do not even have a right mouse click button. That seriously threw me off the first couple days of class and put me through the real struggle of trying to figure the thing out. Although I am quite acquainted with it now, I cannot wait until I do not ever have to deal with it again. It just frustrates me so much I cannot help how I feel. As bad as I hate admit it, I am also not tech savvy when it comes to setting up anything to do with my television or car. If I all of a sudden “cannot do it”, my stepdad will come and save the day. So pretty much anything “I do not know how to do”, he will surely do it for me.

Philosophy of Wikipedia: My Views Changed

Before having the experience of creating my own Wikipedia page, I was told to never in my life, for any circumstance, use Wikipedia. It was seriously one of the worst things that could have been done at my high school. All of my teachers pretty much broke me from ever using this website because they said my professors in college would not want me to use it, so they wanted to "fix me" before I ever got into the situation. After doing some research of my own and making my own Wikipedia page, I now know that my teachers were pretty much one hundred percent wrong about what they had done to everyone in my entire class; not counting the students before me and after me. It is really weird to think about actually; because almost everything that I was told about what college would be like, is the exact opposite of what it really was. Before I was settled in and figured out what my classes were actually like, it was not until then that it made me kind of mad that my teachers from high school would make college seem like such a horrible experience. As if they were not already being hard enough on us from the Wikipedia page as it was, they just had to make it as bad as they could I guess. Yes, the classes are more difficult in a sense, but it is how they made us all really dread leaving home and "being on our own". So for me, my views have completely changed because I now know that the whole time I could have been using Wikipedia and making it a credible source instead of staying away from that website all together. It would have helped me a lot in the end if I would have just done it anyway.
