For the first 5 years since its' founding in 2001, Blue Canopy attained 100%+ growth year-on-year. [3] This rapid growth has resulted in Blue Canopy receiving multiple awards. Inc. In 2003, during this period of growth, Eric Husebo, a Blue Canopy partner, [6] began the formation of BC Fed, a wholly owned subsidiary for classified work. [1] It was launched in 2004, with a focus on developing and delivering Blue Canopy service offerings to the government client. [7] [8]
In 2008, Blue Canopy was again recognized for its growth, this time as a Washington Technology Fast Track - 50 award recipient. Washington Technology recognizes and ranks the top 50 fastest growing technology companies in the Washington Metropolitan area. [9] [3]
In May of 2008, Blue Canopy launched a destination portal that it had developed called mySBX. mySBX enables users to grow their businesses, find new opportunities, and access content built specifically for government contractors. mySBX is a Web 2.0 collaboration platform for government contractors to partner, share information, exchange billable opportunities, and access valuable insight into best of breed vendors and services. In December 2009, the Blue Canopy leadership team sold the spin out company, mySBX, to Deltek. [12]
Blue Canopy made headlines when it announced that it was competitively selected to receive a prime contract, under a $6.6 billion multi-award contract from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to provide worldwide Information Technology (IT) support services to the Government. The award of the highly competitive Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise (SITE) contract was made official, in May of 2010. [2]
