Socrtwo is the nom de plume of Paul D. Pruitt.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Swarthmore College and a Master's Degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
I created the first article on plant hormones which since then has been smartly split off into auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, Ethylene (plant hormone), abscisic acid, Salicylic acid (plant hormone), brassinosteroid, and polyamines. Most or all of the "Location, Characteristics and Occasions for Synthesis Induction" and "Effects" was written by me (such sections are not there for polyamines).
I also wrote the first article on plant senescence and articles about my ancestors C.W. Pruitt, Anna Seward Pruitt and Ida Pruitt. The first two were missionaries to China from 1880's-1930's and the last was their daughter who established the Department of Social Services at Peking Union Medical University and later became a money raiser for Rewi Alley's Gung Ho, industrial worker's cooperative, a movement to aid the Chinese people establish small factories and industrial capacity.
I like Wikipedia and am open to suggestions for where I can contribute.-- socrtwo 02:54, Mar 18, 2005 (UTC)
