Kennedy Ekezie-Joseph (born 11 June 1998) is a Nigerian philosopher, activist, entrepreneur and former national debate champion. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Kippa and the first Nigerian Yenching Scholar. [1]

Originally from Ehime Mbano in Imo State, Ekezie was born in Lagos where he lived for 8 years before his family relocated to Calabar. [2] He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calabar where he studied Philosophy with a focus on African philosophy. During his freshman year in the school, he represented the school in national debates. [3]

In 2018, he was awarded the Queen's Young Leader Award as a recognition for his work. [4] In the same year he was awarded the Yenching Scholarship to study at Peking University in China where he completed a Master of Arts in Economics and Management. [5] [1] In 2021, he co-founded Kippa with his brother Duke Ekezie and is the recipient of the 2022 Future Awards Africa Prize for Technology. [6]
