Rick Barnes / Rick Tymchyn is an American Country Music Entertainer. Born in Schenectady NY on 10/13/1961 To Dick and Sonja Tymchyn, Rick Grew Up In A Life Filled With Country Music. Rick Graduated in 1979 From Broadalbin High School In Broadalbin NY.Through School Many Attempts Were Made At Starting Bands A Couple Stood Out One Called "Flaming Youth" Named After The Kiss Song Of The Same Name, Consisting Of 5 Members All Obvious Kiss Fans. The Second Was Called "Thunder" And Featured A Female Guitar Player That Went On To Be The First " MISS TEEN USA" IN 1983 Ruth Zakarian From Amsterdam NY.


Ricks Dad Dick Had 60 years in The Music Business , Through the 60"s and Early 70"s Dick Was A Co star on "THE PETE WILLIAMS" Show on WRGB TV in Upstate NY The Show Producers said Tymchyn Was Not a Good Name For a Country Entertainer and the Name Barnes Was Used From Then On. Dick Barnes Passed Away On December 25th 2013.


Rick Grew up Around the Business and says "Willie Nelson is my Favorite Entertainer But No One Has Taught Me More About The Business Than Dad"

Rick Put Together His First Working Band Called " Lakota " Through The Late 80s to The Early 90s This Band Covered New And Traditional Country As Well As Southern Rock And Oldies.

During Lakota Years And After The Breakup Of ' Lakota ' Rick Owned and Operated A Mobile DJ Business With Friend And Area Professional Disc Jockey Corey Barber Called "THE RECORD SETTERS" That Venture Operated For Over 15 years. Rick Also Owned A Music Store Called "The Guitar Shed" For Over 15 Years. The Urge To Get On A Stage And Play In a Band Was Always First.

In 2000 a Dream Came True When Rick Joined his Dad in "Cheyenne" Exclusivly A Traditional Country Band . Cheyenne had Already Been a Working Band For 20 years Started and Fronted by Dick . Rick and Dick Worked Together for About 4 years When Dick Decided to Semi Retire Turning the Band Over to Rick.


Since Than the First Thing Rick Did Was Create a TV Show Called "THE ADIRONDACK OPRY" Which Aired for 2 Years and Was the Stations Top Rated Show.The Last Episode was hosted By Former Partner Corey Barber.

In 2006 Rick Started "LAKOTA ENTERTAINMENT" a Concert Promotion Company Specializing in Classic Country. Since That time Rick and Cheyenne have Shared the Stage with Many Grand Ole Opry and Tradition Country Artists.


Many Fine Musicians Have Contributed There Talent To Cheyenne . The Band Has Always Consisted Of - Rick Or Dick Fronting The Band With Vocals And Rythym Guitar Backed By Lead Guitar - Steel Guitar - Bass - Drums - Fiddle And Several Versions Of The Band Have Included A Female Vocalist.
