Resa Martinez (
Russian: Реса Мартинес) also known as Resa Kia (born 5 August 1987) is a Persian-Russian singer,
songwriter, lyricist and audio engineer based in Moscow.
The singer-songwriter began his profession by writing lyrics for other artists. Resa was introduced as beat maker in Russian clubs in 2016, but soon decided to produce his own music. After publishing his first poems, he recorded some tracks in English, Spanish, German, Russian, Patwa and Persian languages. In 2017, Resa had some collaborations with Russian group "White Twerk" in Moscow, later he wrote his first official song “Right Now” in London with July Jones, Mr. Vegas (The MOBO Awards winner of Reggae charts) and Tylr Rydr in September 2017. The song was performed as a duet by Resa and Russian band “A-Sortie” in English and Russian versions.
His story begins from childhood when he was singing from as far back as he can remember,
“I was selected to perform in school choir when I was ten as tenor soloist” he says. Resa learned to play guitar at age 14 and also learned to write music and lyrics early on. He has been reinterpreting songs from the very beginning. During school years he developed a love for dance and sport, then he started training
rhythmic gymnastics with ballet coach at age 7-9. Resa joined to the dance clubs at age 20 during breakdance championship of
Red Bull BC One 2008 and learned to breakdance with Red Bull BC winners "Rahaa Crew - B.boy Milad & B.boy Farzin", He chose the
popping dance as his dance style and developed it by creating new choreographies. Later he moved to Moscow to continue studying vocal techniques in music school during his PhD academic course. In 2016 Resa met Marta Ilina (Russian singer and composer) in Moscow, after some collaborations, Marta encouraged him to record his tracks in studio and release them through the public.
Apart from obtaining side music gigs, dance and education, Resa has worked as sales manager, web programmer, graphic designer and business developer at the Swiss-Russian railway, forwarding, real estate, bank and investment company "
TransInvest" in Moscow from 2016.
- Resa graduated from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in mechanical engineering and he got the highest graduation honor in 2015.
Resa got married on March 2013 in Moscow and got divorced in 2017.
