Jon Renthrope (born 1988) is first Black/Native American to own a brewing a company in Southern United States. He established his brewing company, Cajun Fire Brewing Company, in 2011.
Jon Renthrope was born January 15, 1988 in Eastern New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated high school from St. Augustine High School in 2006, following being impacted and displaced by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina which made landfall in Southeast Louisiana in 2005. Renthrope participated in the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida Outstanding High School Scholars Program and went on to enroll at the University of Florida with a Partnership School Academic Scholarship in Summer of 2006. At the University of Florida, Renthrope studied and received a degree in Political Science and became a member of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.(ΚΑΨ). Renthrope is married, a father of two, and currently resides in the Gentilly community of New Orleans. Renthrope is a tribal member of the United Nation of Houma Indians.

Renthrope is recognized as a cultural ambassador for the historic Treme' Community, serves as founding board member of the National Black Brewers Association, serves on the executive board of 100 Black Men of Metro New Orleans, serves on the executive board of Greater New Orleans East Business Alliance, Black Enterprise ‘Top 5 Blacks in Alcohol Manufacturing’, and is an alumnus of The University of Florida, from which he is an honoree of the 40 under 40 club. Renthrope is the executive producer and host of the ‘What’s Brewing New Orleans’ broadcast program on WBOK1230, one of the oldest Black owned radio stations in the
Renthrope serves as lead project manager of The New Orleans East Cultural Hub, CEO of Levee World International, and COO of Bridge Forest Investment Corporation.
In 2021, Renthrope was featured prominently in the documentary film One Pint at a Time directed by film maker Aaron Hose, which also featured Alisa Bowens-Mercado, Celeste Beatty, and others.
To date, Renthrope's leadership and advocacy has lead his firms to more than one million dollars in philanthropic and non-profit monies for his community partner organizations that serve the Greater New Orleans Metro Area.
