Craig Santos Peres

Craig Santos Perez is a native Chamorro(chamoru) from the Pacific Islands of Guam, or Guahan(Micronesia). He was born in February 6, 1987 and later migrated to the United States California in 1995. He lived there for fifteen years before moving back to Hawaii, where he resettled and teaches Pacific Literature and Creative writing at the Universtiy of Hawai'i at Manoa. He is known as a poet, scholar, editor, essayist, critic, and book reviewer in the Pacific that first recieved a Lannan Foundatuon Literary Fellowship for poetry in 2016. He is the Co-founder of Ala Pressand Co-editor of two anthologies Chamoru Childhood and Home Islands. He is the author of three books of poetry [saina], [guma'], and [hacha].
