Real name Peter McGuinness contactable at various email addresses but most reliably at pmcguinness@sbcglobal.net (a situation that will persist as long as AT&T fail to piss me off. They do keep trying!)

I have a long history as a chip designer, architect, researcher and more recently, business development/product marketing dweeb.

I've been involved in graphics for aeons, including working as an architect on a couple of the early nvidia GPU designs. These days I'm interested more in vision, having produced a very early free-viewpoint TV studio as part of a research project I ran in the early 2000's. We were trying to improve on the 4D light field as a rendering method and I think we did a pretty good job.

My plan as of now is to help out with articles around VPUs. Full disclosure, I make my living these days by selling that sort of information but on the positive side, I have to be impartial and accurate or the business model doesn't work. So, there's that.
