In the Heavyskies is a Buffyverse fan-made production, an internet fan film, taking place in the fictional universe established by TV series, Buffy and Angel. It's current expected release date is November 21, 2007. Despite already receiving small scale notoriety, it is important to some fans as one of only several notable fan films relating to the fictional Buffyverse and has been discussed at a number of web sites such as Whedonesque.com and Chaosradio.com, and coverage will increase as the release date approaches.
An early teaser trailer was posted on YouTube in August 2006, and the news of the upcoming project reached a wider audience when the film was publicised on the websites Whedonesque.com and Whedon.info [2]. Comments posted online reflected fans sceptical that introducing a male slayer character was a good idea because Joss Whedon who created Buffy and Angel identifies himself as a feminist, and feminist themes are common in his work [3].
The original teaser was pulled down [4], and a new teaser trailer replaced it, which humourously referenced some negative feedback from fans [5]. The creator said that he would be working with his team "on a better trailer that would better explain the idea of the movie" [6], and stood up for his vision: "There are so many parodies out there, we wanted to do something different", and asked fans to stay positive until they knew more [7].

A few story details have so far been revealed:
The 'Henign Prophecy' predicts that the fall of the Circle of the Black Thorn that took place in " Not Fade Away" will "rise the one who began, he will bring from the depths his mate and take rule from the sky" [8].
An Old One has ascended and is attempting to resurrect his mate, hoing that together they might take back this dimension. The 'Powers That Be' step in and grant powers to the first ever Male Vampire Slayer.
The film is still in its early stages. It is being written by four people. As of August 2006, they were "working out the basics for the movie, character names and such", and completed a "completed a rough (very rough) outline of the entire film". They have also been involved in finding props, and scouting their surrounding area for filming locations. [9]
The film references some key fictional issues that initiate from Buffy/Angel.
