PHW Business School Berne' is the first and only private business
University of Applied Sciences in the
Swiss Plateau that can be completed with federally recognized diplomas.
The PHW Business School Berne distinguishes itself with a long experience in business management and is part of the
Federal Council approved
Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences. With about 1,300 students in executive education, it is one of the largest
business schools in Switzerland. PHW Business School Berne employs 120 part-time lecturers who are experienced
managers,
independent contractors or
consultants in various fields. They provide valuable practical experience, which are used in project work and promote their specific design and operating skills in professional environment.
As one of the only universities in
Switzerland, the PHW offers its students the opportunity to the completed the postgraduate / master's program completely in English or in a mixed variant.
Official recognition by the federal state of Switzerland. The PHW Business School becomes a federal University of Applied Sciences. All undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas are federal and international recognized (“eidgenössisch anerkannt”) and European, as well as internationally, accredited and accepted.
1999
The PHW Business school becomes the countrywide market leader for postgraduate diploma in Business Engineering.
2005
Fall: Introduction of the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, as stipulated by the
Bologna Accord.
Start of cooperation with the Graduate School Rhein-Neckar, and the School of Business Ludwigshafen, Germany.
2007
January 1: PHW Bern becomes part of the Department of Economics from the
Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences and will work closer together with sister locations Zurich and St. Gallen. The federal recognition is secured.
With the change of partners a new corporate design is introduced.
2008
The product reform continues. Passerelle program for HFW graduates is launched. Additionally, several new Master programs on MAS and EMBA level start (Business Engineering, Medical Management and Business Banking)
In the field of executive MBA for non-economists, PHW Bern becomes an emerging leader in the canton of Bern.
July: Moves, together with majority shareholder Feusi Bildungszentrum, to its new location in Wankdorf, Berne.
2009
The Executive Master program grows. 112 students are expected to start with the Executive MBA alone.
