The hexahydrohexaborate, B6H62- dianion is the smallest stable closo cluster in the series BnHn2-
Can be prepared by the reaction between sodium borohydride and boron trifluoride in diglyme followed by its separation from the resultant mixture of borates based its solubility properties.
