I am concerned with the situation on Old time radio and related pages. You have been an uninvolved contributor with more experience in Wiki than I have. I am left with a feeling that there are some factions here who are following their own agendas rather than Wiki's. In the case of Dnyhagen he is not helping towards any positive agreed solution while working extremely hard on the page that is for his website (the page on Wiki nows comes second on my google search which makes me consider the rationale for it). Into this throw OldRadio who wants his website linked and Wikiotr whose comments suggest a (bad) history with Dnyhagen to say the least.
There are already rather too many external links on the page (in my mind & I've removed some) and I can see that, in trying to compromise, we may end up with a page of links rather than a quality article.
While not as involved as some editors it looks to me as though this may require some outside assessment by a broader body of Wikipedians to try and draw it to a conclusion as soon as possible and allow people to use time more productively. I hope you do not mind me contacting you but I am not sufficiently experienced to know the best way to settle this in a lasting and positive way (& no I have NO interest in any old time radio type sites!). Thanks & regards -- Nigel ( Talk) 12:51, 24 September 2006 (UTC) And as a PS - don't envy you the one above - I got the sharp edge of a tongue sometime ago on that!

Hi Eagle 101. I stopped your Gnome (Bot), but after re-reading my comment I was concerned about my tone. I think running a bot must be a pretty thankless job, as you often only hear from people that don't like what it's doing! It had edited a template that contained a red-cat, and caused some minor damage. I've restored the template and created the cat to avoid future problems. It's no big deal, but I was wondering if there has been discussion about editing templates, or if this was just a one-off because the template is still being developed (not often that a template would be left with a red-cat in it)? Hi ! I am a newbie to Wikipedia, and have created several articles so far that have passed muster in other areas (primarily Civil War and the American South). I note that you deleted an image I uploaded to the Southern Expressionism article under Speedy Deletion Criteria 3. I have permission from the artist who created the image, which is what I listed in the drop down form, but apparently that is not an acceptable copyright. So, I am reloading the image under what I think is the appropriate copyright. But if it's wrong, tell me how I can fix it. I will be adding additional images from other artists, all of whom have given the ok, so I would really like to know the proper copyright required. Thanks ! User:Mpleahy 07:10, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
On the subject of old time radio - I've placed a link to our group - www.otterprojectonline.info several times and every time it is deleted. I don't understand why.
We have valuable information concerning old time radio. We have the internets largest database of otr logs which is updated weekly. We have many articles by leading members of the otr community as well as series synopisis and and the internets second largest collection of pdf files of otr scripts.
Can you give me some understanding as to why our link is deleted and commercial otr sites are permitted to 'advertise' on wikipedia, just because they have a few links to otr sources?
Jim Beshires OTRR 16:50, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
mmm... you have 3 edits, one to here and one to the Old-time radio article, and one to a IP. So I don't see how you placed the link several times. Also it is bad practice to add a link to your own site. But aside from that, I would suggest reading WP:SPAM, and WP:RS. Thanks.
Oh, I'm spamming and a commercial site can post an entire article promoting their site where they plainly sell old time radio, and it's OK for them? Different members of our group have placed a link at least 20 times and it was reported to us that this commercial site was deleting not only our links, but every link placed by any old time radio group. Hi, I created an article yesterday, IPAT, to explain what IPAT is. I created it because I came looking for what it is at Wikipedia, my first choice in encyclopedic reference matters, but it was not here. So I looked elsewhere to find out what IPAT is within the lesson plan writing context that I originally found it in. After I found out what it is I put a page about it on Wikipedia to help myself and others who may come looking for it here in future. Eagle 101 deleted the IPAT article without leaving a reason. It seems like a helpful appropriate Wikipedia article to me. So I have recreated it. Eagle, please refer this to a third party for action if you still feel it should be deleted. Cheers, Roger Chrisman 21:00, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Eagle 101.
I helped a user set up the article United one heart foundation which you deleted under CSD A7. I don't remember that article too well, but at the time I thought it was borderline notable, enough to keep it in anyway. Would you mind undeleting it and moving it to my user-space? Don't worry, I won't recreate it (unless I find good reason for it, and then I'd immediatly take it to AFD and notify you, since you obviously disagreed), but I want to give the user his peace of mind. He's a newbie and I don't want to turn him away from wikipedia, I'd just like to see the article so that I can rationalize it for the guy and keep him from recreating it.
Who knows, maybe I can work on it enough to make it a Keep? However, as I said, I have no intention of overruling you.
Thanks! Oskar 22:56, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I would like to raise with you the issue of you recent deletion of my article on [J&P]. I summarize my argument below:
J&P is a household name in the Middle East having build most of the infrastructure in several countries, information which I started outlining in my article. For a country the size of Cyprus, it has had an impact similar, if not greater, to what Nokia has had for Finland. Or Royal Dutch Shell for Holland. To put this in perspective for you, the figure of 14,000 employees translates to roughly 5% of the total employed population. It has a turnover of more than £1 billion. That’s greater than 10% of the GDP of Cyprus. If companies such as Crest Nicholson, McCarthy & Stone and Crosby Homes some of which are miniscule in comparison (definitely in real terms, more so in relative terms) are listed in Wikipedia I don’t see why larger companies that have had a more significant global impact (albeit in other regions of the world) should not be featured. One could interpret this as a double standards policy favoring companies such as those I site above, on the grounds that they based in more influential countries.
Please note this was not an attempt to advertise J&P as I have no affiliations to this company whatsoever and if fact I morally agree that wikipedia should not be used as a platform for company advertising. The information I included was very similar to what's posted on the construction companies I site above. In fact I went a step further and used the infobox template to present this.
Furthermore one could take offence to your description of the article as spam. As you might notice from my other articles so far, I put quite a lot of effort to source independent references (one of which I included in the article) on the figures stated and the company’s international ranking.
Any chance - I was holding up the months newsletter so I could anounce the re-run. Is it possible for more than just yourself to set this in motion.? :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/ (Desk) 10:57, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
The novels .hack//AI buster and ’Salem's Lot both have the Name? listed as missing, but checking the article pages they have the Name filled out already. I think the the punctuation before the first letter is giving a false reading. Grey Shadow 23:52, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't think this deletion Isogolem suggested was particularly fair or appropriate, given Wikipedia's mission. Playerep is a volunteer site that's non-advertising, non-commercial based to help encourage community based playing for online games. It's wholly unique in its approach and technology. I find it very discourageing and disturbing that every reference to it has gone. I'm not sure what people thought it was competing against or why every reference to it in Wikipedia had to be erased. 39 years as alderman is notable. If the page contained more information about his life, it would not be deleted. It was deleted not because it did not contain why he is notable, it did contain why he is notable, it was deleted because it did not have a lot of personal information on him. Many pages of politicans on Wikipedia just contain information of them, such as where they are from, where they went to school, they don't all say what it is they have done. If people need to do something extraordinary notable to have a wikipedia page, then you there would not be a page on every current member of Congress. 75.3.3.245 04:07, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Eagle. Thank you for offering your help I guess I need it. You said that I cannot make any personal comments, but it is clear to me that Dan just stuck on his personal opinion. I don’t see any legitimate discussion from his site. I am a last year student in Latvian University and I am making my diploma work right now and it is very deeply involved with the memory and memory mechanisms. I have spent tons of time looking for the legitimate information in the Internet and library and the only source I have found is www.pmemory.com I am using the GMS Manual right now to finish my diploma work. And I just don’t understand why because of the people like Dan other people have to use old material about this subject. I haven’t seen any other material explains in details and on the cells lever how memory works. You should see that it is impossible to proof something to person who has a very limited understanding of the discussed subject.
I would appreciate you help, Thanks Alex dubasAlex_Dubas
Hey, I see you've been deleting the articles tagged for CSD R3 that have quotes around the titles. mmm... you have 3 edits, one to here and one to the Old-time radio article, and one to a IP.
What's fair about that? OTRR —The preceding unsigned comment was added by OTRR ( talk • contribs) 00:54, October 3, 2006 (UTC) yes I know you put your username, but I would also like to have the date

The subsidiary names added to MyTravel Group PLC page are companies that are part of MyTravel Group so how can this be 'vandalism' and why where they be removed?

Given that you decided Batanga was indeed a speedy, you might do some clean-up via What links here?. The origial author ( contribs) created some additional pages for figures in the company. I don't know what the speedy criteria might be, but it looks like WP:VANITY to me. - MrFizyx 21:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure I agree with deleting them; redirects are cheap, and using quotes around a title is incredibly common. I had this problem just yesterday with another brand-new user doing the same kind speedy deletion tagging. (Which is itself weird.) It's not worth restoring them, but in case the user doesn't stop tagging these articles, I can edit out the db tags to keep the rds. Thanks! -- Merope 19:27, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
