Mollie Porter (born c.1938) is an English-born mountaineer who became the first woman to lead a mountain rescue team in Scotland, and possibly the UK. [1]
In 1972 she took charge of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team - the first woman to take charge of a mountain rescue team in Scotland and it is believed in the UK as a whole.
She was employed as a mountaineering instructor at Glenmore Lodge near Aviemore, and was also one of the first women to be employed by the British Antarctic Survey. [1]
