I live in the Denver area (but used to live in the Seattle area).
I've visited 40 of the 50 States, and visited 11 countries.

If you have a Wikipedia account, take a few minutes to set up Navigation popups. It's a more interactive & detailed version than the built-in Page Previews and Reference Tooltips.
I've tweaked my user css ("Vector" style):
The Geographical coordinate WikiProject is trying to standardize geographic markup of articles so that you could "browse" Wikipedia via tools like Google Earth, NASA World Wind, etc.
For news on Wikipedia itself, read the Wikipedia Signpost.
Here's a convenient link that gives you a page with only Today's Featured Article.
This is the same content that appears on the Main Page, and also via the WP:TOFA "special page". But the link above doesn't have all the "extra" stuff found on the Main Page and WP:TOFA
I did this by taking advantage of Wikipedia's transclusion capability.
