Chalapati Rao I.V., shortened from Iyyenki Venkata Chalapati Rao is an Indian educationalist and writer. An erudite scholar, public speaker, a teacher and an editor. Author of over 25 books on education, communication, management and biography of lasting values, and reviewed and wrote Prefaces and Forewords to over two hundred books of well known writers in English and Telugu. He is a visiting faculty for many universities, national training institutions and academic staff colleges across the country. He specializes in communication skills, Indian ethos and culture, purpose of life, personality development and other similar topics.
Born in a well to do family in 1923. He lost his father when he was 15 and was brought up by his well read mother. He was highly influenced by the stories his mother narrated to him from Ramayana and Mahabharata. He Graduated from P.R. College Kakinada,(Andhra Pradesh, India). After graduation he moved to Nagpur ( Maharashtra, India) to pursue his long cherished dream of post-graduate study in English Literature.
I.V. Chalapati Rao is a well-known and highly respected household name amongst the English reading public. His wit and wisdom is explicitly seen in his writings as well as in his public speeches. Late Swamy Paramathananda of Rama Krishna Math said “ Chalapati Rao’s words not only carry meaning for intellectual but awaken our dormant spirits” ( Foreword to ‘ Culture Capsules- Art Of Living’ by Prof I.V.Chalapati Rao, june 2002). His literary works are diverse, current and dynamic thereby enthuse the younger generation as well.
