Msouk09/Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK - Swing Big Band

History

Founded in 2003 by trumpeter Kevin Cunningham, the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK wowed audiences in Concert Halls and Theatres all over Great Britain for four years. Known for it’s mix of Big Band Swing teamed with outstanding vocals, the Orchestra’s repertoire ranges from the classics of Glenn Miller through Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman to the cool vibe of Sinatra with a touch of Buddy Rich thrown in.

The Orchestra took time out during late 2007 and 2008 to extend their repertoire and experience in other fields, our musicians now have credits ranging from 1920’s trad jazz, BBC Big Band, Jazz Funk and West End shows behind them. 2009 sees the MSO UK take up the baton again beginning with a pre Christmas 3 date tour covering Morecambe, Fleetwood and Port Talbot.

"Kev Cunningham believes the Orchestra is better than ever and is looking forward to evenings of nostalgia, foot tapping and good humour."

In Concert in addition to Big Band numbers there are solos spots from a number of our top notch musicians and fabulous renditions from our Star vocalists Roman Marek, Patrick Kumah or Jim Whitley. ‘Ella Be Good’ with its incredible scat section is always a showstopper.
