I suppose as a new editor it may take some time to understand the rules and goals of the active community. As a veteran computer specialist (35 years - same birth year as Bill Gates) I am often surprised what techniques people will use to get their view across. Then again everyone's agenda may be explicit or hidden and that is their right. Common courtesy is free and in the long run offers the greatest benefit IMO.
