All cricketers should be placed in a category of nationality. The format of which is
Category Fooian cricketers. If there is any claim that a cricketer can be legitimately argued to be in more than one category,
WP:COMMON should apply and the article be placed in more than one category.
Each cricketer can be a category for any team they have played for at domestic level. For domestic teams, the category name should be explicitly obvious that it is a county/state team, and not a "Cricketers from Essex" category. This will need to be decided for each country, but I propose for example that for English counties,
Category:County CCC cricketers is used instead of
Category:County cricketers; Australian state teams should be
Category:State state crickteters (
Category:New South Wales state cricketers).
