Amin was born in  Diamond Harbour, Kolkata,  West Bengal,  India, in a Bengali  Muslim family to Masira Bibi and Ajijul Haque Molla. He spent his childhood in  Lakshmikantapur ( South 24 pgs,West Bengal ) at his maternal uncle home .
