Before she formed Opium Thieves , she was also in local west tennessee bands, pop band - Kindred (2005), grunge band - The Ashtray Monkeys (2006), punk band - This Day In Age (2006 - 2007), metal band - EverUnder (2009. She has produced all of her albums up to 2009 and released a total of 12 underground albums to date.
In 2006 Cathy became engineer for the Chat Radio Show "I Hate Your Music" that broadcasted over yahoo chat which interviewed underground punk bands.
