Celiac crisis is severe condition in which celiac disease causes acute metabolic derangements. [1] [2] manifestations and complications of celiac crisis include severe diarrhea, hypoproteinemia, and Acidosis and electrolyte disturbances significant enough to require hospitalization. [3] [4] it can as well present with hypokalemia, hyperglycemia, polyuria, [5] bleeding, [2] calcium deficiency, [6] and tetany. [2] it can also present with neurological symptoms such as cerebellar ataxia, [7] paralysis, [8] [6] [9] and quadriplegia. [10]
