On January 5, 2015, Select announced its plans to merge with Atlanta-based EmployBridge to form the largest industrial staffing organization in the United States. [3] [4]
EmployBridge was created from the combination of several staffing organizations that merged in the 1990s.[ citation needed] In 1997, the company, originally formed as Staffing Resources Inc., combined its operations with Career Blazers, Inc., a New York-based staffing and permanent placement firm and became known as Career Blazers, Inc. [5] On October 27, 2000, Tom Bickes and Shawn Poole led a management buyout of the commercial segment of Career Blazers and EmployBridge Holding Company was created. From its inception, EmployBridge has had a keen focus on specializing in the light industrial staffing space through its specialty brands. In October 2013, EmployBridge acquired Employment Plus and rebranded Employment Plus as ResourceMFG. [ citation needed]
In February 2015, The Select Family of Staffing Companies (now Select) and EmployBridge merged, maintaining the EmployBridge name for the holding company.
Originally called Select Temporaries, Select acquired RemedyTemp, Inc. in 2006 and was renamed SelectRemedy briefly, before changing its name to Select Staffing in 2007.
