Natalia López-Moratalla ( Granada, February 3, 1946) is a Spanish university professor and researcher in the areas of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Academic life

She obtained a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Granada in 1968 and a doctorate in Sciences, Biology section, from the University of Navarra in 1972. [1] [2] She has been adjunct professor of Physiological Chemistry at the Complutense University (1975); associate professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Barcelona since 1977 and Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Valencia since 1981. [3] [4] [5] Since 1981 she has been an ordinary Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Navarra, where she has held various positions of Director of Studies, Vice Dean, and Vice Chancellor. In 2013 she became Professor Emeritus. [6] [7] [8]

Scientific Research

She has held various positions of responsibility in national and international associations, commissions and congresses related to her research and teaching activities: president of the "Spanish Association of Bioethics and Medical Ethics" (AEBI) since 2007; member of the «Bioethics Committee» of Spain; member of the "National Commission for Assisted Human Reproduction", president of the World Congress "Female Social Space"; member of the Division of Ethics of Science and Technology in the UNESCO Social and Human Sciences Sector; execution of the report on "Stem Cell Research"; expert in the Subcommission for the reform of the law of Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy; director of the Central American Master of Bioethics, Universidad del Istmo Guatemala and president of the National Congress of Bioethics "Bioethics and consciousness" held in Madrid in 2009, among others. He has belonged to several scientific and ethical societies, including the Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM), Nitric Oxide Society and the Spanish Association for Bioethics and Medical Ethics. [16] [17]

He has devoted constant attention to problems that require an interdisciplinary study, through courses and projects such as "Regulatory epigenesis of embryonic development, evolutionary process and genesis of man", "Anthropological bases of university education", "Biology of human personality "And" The secrets of your brain ", with the making of videos.

He has published scientific-technical documents in prestigious magazines such as Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, The International Journal of Biochemistry, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, Revista española de Fisiología, FEBS Letters, Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics and International Journal of Molecular Medicine.
