She moved to Canada with her family when she was three, moved back to Taiwan at 9 and returned to Richmond, Canada at 10. At the age of 5, she learned to play the piano and taught herself to write songs around then. At the age of 14, she wrote her first complete song, "Every Time I Think Of You".

Tsai studied in the University of British Columbia, in which she majored in pharmacy, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and co-founded Big Brothers at UBC. [1] She graduated from UBC in 2018.

[2] [3] On September 26, 2017, she released her first single, "You Said You Love Me", the first single off her debut EP, "遇見Ariel". Her second single off the EP, "The Vow", was released on October 24. The EP was released at the end of November 2017. [4]
