Spa of Malhada Hot The Pied Hot is located in the massive eruption syenitic sub- volcanic Monchique , the spot syenite of Fóia . Emerges via diaclases , in vicinity of Brook Fóia . The spring emerges at a temperature of 23.2ºC , and 270m dimension , with a flow rate of 1286 l / h , according DRHG files dating back to 1954. However , Almeida and Almeida (1966 ) indicate the temperature emergency as 28ºC. It is a sodium bicarbonate water, almost as as the alkaline waters of Caldas de Monchique. It was at times exploited for therapeutic purposes through a rudimentary and crude resort .
It remains the memories of the past, when every year came people from everywhere, especially the Lower Alentejo, in the relentless pursuit to curb the evils that were sick, and apoquentavam, including rheumatism and skin diseases. Today the turnout should be minimal, only some or the other nostalgic of the past, due to the poor quality and disuse in that it has been falling because the young are accustomed to other luxuries and are not compatible with such rudimentary facilities. It seems that the owner tried to monetize it with modern facilities, but excessive bureaucracy should have finished with all its illusions and whims. There remains the fresquidão the trees, and the delightful place, to try to forget the golden days in which it was fertile .
