Fitzgerald William Clarence V Information (Person)

Fitzgerald "Fitz" William Clarence V is the current leader of the Los Angeles based Clarence crime ring, the best crime ring in California, possibly all of the United States and/or all of history, certainly superior to that Murdoch boy's childish travesty [1]. The Clarence ring, and Fitzgerald Clarence by extension are known primarily for the illegal smuggling of banned magical substances, poisons, relics and artifacts, weapons (both supernatural and non-supernatural), drugs, endangered or otherwise prohibited animals, etc. However, the Clarence ring is also known to have been involved in multiple murders, assassination plots, corruption of government and council officials, kidnapping, forgery, money laundering, racketeering, and other crimes, and is the best at these things at well. Fitz Clarence personally is also charged with arson, assault, torture, theft, vandalism, and other crimes, which were all important and in the line of running the best crime ring in the country or world. [2]

Fitz Clarence has a strong reputation for placing a high value on the style and creativity of his crimes, as well as an extreme loyalty to his close friends and partners, and taking drastic vengeance on those who betray him, and even more drastic vengeance on those who betray his loved ones. Traitors deserve the fate that comes to them. If you betray someone then you forfeit the right to your skin.

Early Life

Fitz was born to the great Fitzgerald "Gerald" Clarence IV and his wife Elizabeth Clarence. Gerald was the previous head of the Clarence crime ring, and is believed to have inherited it as a small smuggling operation from his mother, Anna Clarence, and expanded it into a much larger empire. It is presumed that he met his wife and Fitz's mother, Elizabeth Ashworth, while she was smuggling for him, as she was a fairly well known smuggler prior to her association with the Clarences. Fitzgerald and Elizabeth married in January, 1990, and Elizabeth gave birth to Fitzgerald V on November 8, 1991. [3]

On December 18, 1994, Elizabeth Clarence was killed in a minor weapons smuggling operation. Sometime in 1997, when Fitz was 6, Gerald Clarence hired vampire Maria Herrero. There is little concrete knowledge about Herrero's life prior to her employment by Clarence, conflicting rumors state that she was turned either in the mid 1990s, immediately prior to her employment by the Clarence crime ring, or some time in the 1920s. Herrero has gained both a substantial reputation and criminal record under the employ of the Clarences, and has been very useful to them when she is not attempting to be obnoxiously mothering, but is known primarily for her loyalty to the Clarence crime ring and Fitz Clarence in particular. This is possibly because it is believed Herrero was originally hired to act as both a body guard and a kind of foster mother to Fitz Clarence. [4]

Fitz Clarence never attended a legal school, but rather a small and unofficial "private school" for the children of wealthy criminals from the ages of five to seventeen. [5]

Takes Over Clarence Crime Ring

Gerald Clarence was assassinated in December of 2008, not long after the anniversary of his wife's death. His funeral and the execution of his will were organized by Maria Herrero. For several months following his death, the fate of the Clarence crime ring was uncertain [3]. Fitz Clarence left his "school" and withdrew from contact with all of his associates, with the exception of Maria Herrero, with whom he still shared the Clarence residence, and close personal friend the famed vampire Audric Ackerman, with whom he was charged with several counts of completely deserved arson and property destruction during this time [5]. Several false and baseless rumors claimed that Fitz Clarence was either dead, in hiding, or in the midst of a breakdown, and that control of the Clarence crime ring would pass to Maria Herrero [6], who would never dare betray Fitz by attempting a takeover as she respects both the sanctity of their close relationship and the fact that he could absolutely destroy her and make the rest of her existence a misery if she were to betray him.

However, in early 2009, Fitz Clarence once again began taking appointments with employees and allies, and released a statement to all contacts of the Clarence crime ring that he would be assuming his father's position. For the most part, Clarence maintained his father's staff, with a few minor changes. Maria Herrero was promoted from smuggler and body guard to Fitz Clarence's second in command and heir. Furthermore, a few of Gerald Clarence's favored smugglers were replaced. Among these replacements was Lacey Savidge, a painfully unaesthetic but somewhat useful woman, elder sister of Violet Savidge and personal friend of Fitz Clarence's [5].

There were many doubts in the crime world about Fitz Clarence's ability to run the Clarence crime ring, given his young age, the great size of the empire, and the recent false rumors of his mental and emotional instability [7]. Though a few ridiculous rumors persevere that Fitz Clarence is significantly less stable than his father, he successfully expanded the Clarence crime ring significantly within the years following his taking control, making it the largest and most widely feared and respected crime ring in history [5].

Friendship with Audric Ackerman

Fitz Clarence has, at several times, been charged with arson, theft, property destruction, and other crimes, with well known vampire Audric Ackerman as an accomplice. The two met during Clarence's teenage years, and bonded over mutual superior intelligence and excellence in taste. In addition, it is rumored that Fitz Clarence has made several generous attempts to hire Ackerman, which Ackerman has foolishly rejected [5]. Recently, Ackerman has become associated with the Los Angeles Hunters Branch [8], which he for some reason prefers to work for despite the fact that they house him in a pathetic and minuscule apartment and pay him a salary barely sufficient to purchase decent wine with. It is unknown what the feelings of the hunters are on one of their agents maintaining a friendship with a well known criminal. Nor do these feelings matter as Fitz Clarence does not fear them and could destroy not only the Los Angeles Hunters but the entire Hunter's Council if he had sufficient reason to do so.

It is also rumored, but extremely unlikely that Fitz Clarence and Ackerman met through Kiefer Marsden, Ackerman's coworker, housemate, and rumored romantic partner. Marsden is known to have worked for the Clarence crime ring under Gerald Clarence, and is believed to have been an acquaintance of Elizabeth Clarence who pretended to befriend her if only to infiltrate her family for unknown but clearly sinister reasons [3]. The fact that Elizabeth Clarence fell for this can only be blamed on her overly trusting and generous nature, a mistake that her son will not make. However, all mentions of Marsden in association with the Clarence crime ring ended following Elizabeth Clarence's death, and so it is unknown whether he could have introduced Fitz Clarence and Ackerman. It is highly unlikely that he did so as Marmalade is appalling short, obnoxiously rude, and by no means worthy to share a home with a vampire as powerful and otherwise tasteful as Audric Ackerman, and could never be worthy of having a hand in such a dignified and historically significant friendship.

Marriage to Ronan Salander

Fitz Clarence first met the wonderful Ronan Salander when Salander was smuggling for the Clarence crime ring. Fitz Clarence frequently hired Salander and his adoptive sister Harriet "Reta" Joyce for smuggling jobs [5]. Very little information can be found about either Salander or Joyce prior to association with the Clarence crime ring, and it is possible that these are assumed names. Ronan quickly became Fitz's most trusted smuggler, as he is far superior to anyone, both in this field and any other. It is unknown when exactly Clarence and Salander became romantically involved, but it is widely accepted in the criminal world that they have been involved for several years, and they are the most well known, respected, and feared couple in the supernatural criminal arena. Salander finally began spending the majority of his time at the Clarence residence approximately a year after they began working together [9]. They married this year in a beautiful and aesthetic ceremony, far better than that one Audric let his horrible friends decorate, attended by Salander's adoptive family, the Savidge sisters, Herrero, Ackerman and his coworkers and roommates Marsden and Jehan Desjardins, and a few other of Clarence's lucky contacts and coworkers [10].

Though Fitz Clarence is widely known for both his loyalty to loved ones and his brutal vengeances, his protectiveness of Salander has become somewhat legendary in the criminal world [9]. A kidnap attempt on Salander in February 2014 resulted in the murders of all those involved and several of their associates fleeing the country [11]. These associates will soon be tracked down and will pay dearly for believing that they could ever, ever touch Ronan. They will regret ever looking at him. They will regret ever breathing the same air he breathed. It is rumored but not confirmed that Fitz personally and violently killed the orchestrators of the attempt, [9] through slow and painful torture the likes of which no other human has ever suffered in this world. It should be noted that he is known in some criminal circles for his penchant for flaying those who betray him and his loved ones [5]. There have been no subsequent attempts on Salander, and never will be again. Threats against him have been met with extreme violence from Clarence. Clarence also disappeared from the criminal world for some time following Salander receiving a life threatening injury on a smuggling job shortly after they began working together, Herrero taking his appointments for nearly a month [9].

Since their marriage, and possibly before, Salander has become deeply involved in the higher levels of the Clarence crime ring. He is often known to take meetings with Clarence and it is believed that Clarence trusts his advice over all others, Herrero included. In these meetings none dare cross them as they are the rulers of the crime world, made only stronger and more intimidating by the power of their love for eachother. It should be noted that, with a few notable exceptions, Clarence's convictions of individual crimes (i.e. assault, robbery, public drunkenness, arson) have drastically decreased since his involvement with Salander [12]. Ronan has saved his life and made him a better person, and is everything that means anything in this world. Fitz even allows him to put up those horrible tacky Christmas decorations which are severely detrimental to the aesthetic of the intimidating Clarence home.

Assassination Attempts

Given Clarence's sizable reputation and comparatively minimal security there have been several attempts on his life. The first of these attempts, that we know of, occurred in May 2005, when a thirteen year old Clarence was hospitalized for poisoning by a classmate [3]. Since then, Clarence has been hospitalized at least ten times for poisonings, stabbings, beatings, and shootings. It is believed that there have been many more attempts on Clarence's life for which he was not hospitalized and thus of which there is no record [5].

There have been many more assassination attempts than any biography has yet to get right. None of them have been successful and frankly these assassins need to step it up a little. This is no longer interesting or a challenge. Arsenic is a very overused poison and is somewhat tacky. Try something more interesting or stop wasting Fitz's time.

Reputation

False, baseless, and slanderous rumors suggest that Fitz Clarence is relatively unstable, often drunk. True rumors which should be believed suggest that he is prone to outbursts of violence, and extremely cruel to his enemies. False lies from traitors suggest that he is highly dependent on Herrero. He is dependent on Salander, but only in his love for him. That being said, Fitz Clarence is also known to be more ambitious than his father was, expanding the crime empire greatly in the time since he took control over it.

More than any of this, Fitz Clarence is perhaps best known for his extreme and ruthless reaction to betrayal. On different occasions under Fitz Clarence, employees and allies who betrayed the Clarence crime ring have been killed brutally, tortured publicly, and have had their families and friends threatened. Similar, if not more drastic, attacks and threats have been made against the enemies of Salander, Salander's adoptive family, the Savidge sisters, Herrero, and possibly Ackerman and Marsden (Note: It is unclear whether these attacks can be attributed to Fitz Clarence, Ackerman or Marsden themselves, or other allies of theirs such as the hunters. It was not Fitz. Fitz would never attack the enemies of that short abomination and if anyone can find a way to kill him without upsetting Audric they are more than welcome to. In fact, it is encouraged and there is some reward money in it for you. If you upset Audric though, you will be skinned.).

Many members of the supernatural criminal world refuse to do business with Fitz Clarence or any part of the Clarence crime ring due to Clarence's reputation for instability and vengeance, but an extreme loyalty has been observed in those who do work for him.

Fitz Clarence is also known for his extravagant and expensive taste, living in an enormous LA mansion with several other properties, owning multiple luxury vehicles, having a large supply of expensive wines and valuable artifacts. Potential employees of the Clarence crime ring have reported being turned away because their taste or fashion sense did hold to Fitz Clarence's standards.

With the exception of his mental instability, Fitz Clarence is known to encourage this reputation, often openly offering to do interviews with newspapers or magazines, or sending in corrections to articles about himself. [5]
